Parking for A Day in Old New Castle is at the First Baptist Church parking lot, at the intersection of Delaware Routes 141 and 273/9. Shuttles will run continuously from the parking lot to the Green in Old New Castle all day. Click on the links below to view written directions.

From I-95 (South and North)

From I-295 (New Jersey)

From Maryland and Southern Delaware (Routes 40 and 13)

From Newark, DE and Maryland (Route 273)


From I-95 (South and North)

PLEASE NOTE: The exit from 95 to 141 South is currently closed due to construction.

Travelers are advised to take Exit 3 (Route 273) toward New Castle and follow the directions for From Newark, DE and Maryland (Route 273) below.

  1. Take 95 to Exit 5/141 South.

  2. Take 141 South for approximately 3.8 miles. (Landmarks include a shopping center with an Ames and a Blockbuster video on the right and the George Read Middle School on the left).

  3. As you pass the William Penn High School, get in the right lane

  4. Turn right into the First Baptist Church parking lot, next to the William Penn High School.

  5. Shuttles will run continuously from the parking lot into Old New Castle all day.

From I-295 (New Jersey)

  1. Take 295 across the Delaware Memorial Bridge.

  2. There's a tollbooth on the Delaware side of the bridge - get in the right lane as you leave the tolls.

  3. Take the Route 9 South exit (Route 9 North is the first right after the tolls; Route 9 South is the second right, immediately after it).

  4. Follow Route 9 for approximately 2 miles. Once you cross the railroad tracks, get in the right lane.

  5. Route 9 veers to the right - follow Route 9

  6. At Route 9 and 141 (the second traffic light after turning the slight right), take a right-hand turn.

  7. Immediately, turn left into the First Baptist Church parking lot, next to the William Penn High School.

  8. Shuttles will run continuously from the parking lot into Old New Castle all day.

From Maryland and Southern Delaware (Routes 40 and 13)

  1. Take Route 40 or Route 13 north to New Castle.

  2. Immediately after the Route 40/13 merge, get in the far right lane.

  3. Turn right at the intersection of Route 13 and Route 273 (This intersection has Dempsey's Family Restaurant on one corner, as well as a Burger King and a McDonald's. If you pass the Airport Plaza or the New Castle County Airport, you've gone too far).

  4. Follow Route 273 for approximately 2 miles to the intersection of Route 141 (You'll pass Amazon.com on the right hand side).

  5. Turn left at Route 141.

  6. Immediately, turn left into the First Baptist Church parking lot, next to the William Penn High School.

  7. Shuttles will run continuously from the parking lot into Old New Castle all day

From Newark, DE and Maryland (Route 273)

  1. Follow Route 273 to Route 13. Go straight through the intersection at Route 13.

  2. Follow Route 273 for approximately 2 miles to the intersection of Route 141 (You'll pass Amazon.com on the right hand side).

  3. Turn left at Route 141.

  4. Immediately, turn left into the First Baptist Church parking lot, next to the William Penn High School.

  5. Shuttles will run continuously from the parking lot into Old New Castle all day.
